Online Meeting? Watch Yourself.
Leading a meeting online is great, except when it isn't. While you're presenting, all sorts of problems can occur for your remote participants. Instead of your satiny made-for-podcasting voice, they might be hearing something like an elephant trumpeting through a tuba. Ten minutes into your spiel, you might be on slide 12 driving your point home, but in Colorado your sales prospect's screen hasn't budged since slide 3. Before your next presentation, log into it as both guest and presenter so you can periodically check that all is well. If your remote participants have been silent for a while, ask them if they have any questions. This will tell you if your audio is coming through clearly.
